Eric grew up in Katy, Texas and became active with the Houston classical music world in 2008. HGO's production of Britten's A Midsummer NIght's Dream was Eric's first professional gig as a member of the children's chorus and understudy to Mustardseed.
In his senior year of High School, Eric had the opportunity to work with HGO again as a member of their High School Voice Studio. This gave him opportunities for master classes, diction classes, and an early immersion into the world of opera.
Eric received his Bachelor's of Music from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He sang in every chorus he could, performed in countless opera scenes, and three main stage opera productions. He was also able to travel and perform opera in Italy, Luxembourg, and Japan thanks to Sam Houston and its wonderful faculty.
After graduating in May of 2018, Eric continued his education at Louisiana State University for his Master's of Music in Vocal Performance degree. While at LSU, Eric performed in many operas, including the collegiate premiers of Elizabeth Cree by Kevin Puts and Two Remain by Jake Heggie. Outside of his education, Eric also sang in many productions with Baton rouge's own Opéra Louisiane. Eric received his degree in May of 2020.
